DEVELOPERS AND AI AGENTS
Connect your software and AI agents.
A complete REST API, signed webhooks and an MCP server, with the same permissions, security and audit as the app.
REST API
Everything you do in the app can also be done through the API: datarooms and documents, upload, search, request lists, Q&A, exhibits, messaging, members and audit events. The API follows OpenAPI 3.1.
- Documentation per operation and the required scope are on the API documentation.
- The OpenAPI document: https://app.thedutchdataroom.com/api-docs/openapi.json
API keys
- Administrators create keys in Admin > Integrations, with 19 scopes and a lifetime of 1 to 365 days.
- A key can never do more than the user who created it, and never actions that ask for the second factor again.
- The key is shown once and stored as a hash. Every use is in the audit trail.
- At most 300 requests per minute per key.
MCP server for AI agents
AI agents that speak the Model Context Protocol use the data room through one endpoint, with the same keys, scopes, permissions and audit as the REST API. There is one tool per API operation.
- Endpoint:
POST https://app.thedutchdataroom.com/mcp/v1 - Methods:
initialize,tools/list(paginated) andtools/call(JSON-RPC 2.0). - Authentication:
Authorization: Bearerwith an API key. - Deliberately excluded: actions that ask for a fresh second factor, key and webhook management, signing and SSO settings.
Webhooks
Get notified of a new upload, a submitted request list, a new question, a download that is ready or a closed data room. Webhooks are signed (HMAC), carry IDs only and are retried up to six times.
