What is The Dutch Dataroom?
A secure European online data room for professionals and organisations, for any kind of confidential file. You share documents with clients and counterparties, request missing documents and record every step.
Does The Dutch Dataroom replace OneDrive or Dropbox?
No. There is no desktop sync and it is not a general cloud drive. It is meant for confidential files you share with external parties.
Which languages are supported?
Dutch and English, including the e-mails and the client portal.
Do guests pay or need an account?
No. Guests are free and sign in with a code sent by e-mail.
Where is my data stored?
In the EU: documents and the master key in Amsterdam, servers and database in Germany, backups at a second location in Germany. See Security.
Is two-factor authentication mandatory?
It is on by default for everyone in your firm. An administrator can switch it off for their own firm; we advise against that.
Can documents be signed electronically?
Not yet. Electronic signing is in development and not yet available.
Is there AI in the software?
No, the software has no AI features and your documents are not used to train AI. Your own AI agents can work with your data room through the API and the MCP server, within the permissions you give them.
Can I take my data with me if I stop?
Yes. You export a complete data room as a ZIP with its folder structure.
About pricing
Which users do I pay for?
Internal colleagues working in the software for your firm. Each colleague counts once, even with access to multiple datarooms. External clients and guests you invite are free.
How much storage is included?
5 GB per internal user, with a minimum of 25 GB per firm. Storage is shared, so there is no need to allocate it per colleague. 200 users include 1 TB. We use 1 TB = 1,000 GB.
How do 200 colleagues cost exactly €20,000 per year?
10 × €180 + 40 × €120 + 50 × €96 + 100 × €86 = €20,000. Discounts are progressive: adding a user never lowers your total or raises the rate for existing users.
Can I pay monthly?
Yes. For one user, monthly billing costs €19 per month instead of €180 per year. Monthly subscriptions can be cancelled monthly and cost around 26.7% more than the annual equivalent.
What does the free version include?
You start with 14 days of everything. After that you continue for free with 1 user, 1 dataroom, 2 GB storage and up to 10 external guests per dataroom, with no end date. Your data stays when you upgrade later.
Can I pay online now?
Not yet. You can download your price summary and request activation; online payment follows at the commercial launch. Your calculation is not an order and nothing is charged.
